YRDP Youth Exchange With American Youth

On Wednesday, September 07, 2011, YRDP organized the exchange program at its office attended by 36 youths from different universities in Phnom Penh and Princeton University (USA). This program started at 2:00 pm and ended at 5:00 pm focused on the exchanging ideas and experiences with American youths. It was a good chance for Cambodian youths to attend in the discussion session with Princeton University (SUA) youths.

Mr. Ly Bunthea, YRDP’s officer of YEU, gave his welcome speech to youths from America and various universities in Phnom Penh. The program was continuously turned to be divided into group discussions to find out the differences between Cambodia and USA related to Cambodian youths, economics, politics, lives, international relations, educational system and other issues that were the youth’s concerns. Each dividend group discussion had to do presentation to defend their group discussing ideas. Meanwhile, it was so great that American youths mixed together in discussion. They shared their knowledge to each other during the presentation. The most American private universities provide youths with many job opportunities much better than State universities. Anyway, Cambodian youths expressed their concerns related to their future job because the government gave them just a few jobs after finishing colleges.

As the results, YRDP youth learned American educational system, international relations, politics and made a good relationship, while the American youths were aware of Cambodian politic and educational system situations.
